Minutes
The October meeting was held on Monday, October 16th, 2000 at the Johnson Chevrolet meeting room. Vice-President Mike Collins presided. Motion was made to approve the minutes of the Sepember meeting as mailed out. David Pridgin moved to accept the Treasury report as read, second by Jack Bocksnick. Carried. Old Business: David Pridgin presented contract for 10 year lease agreement for the I.J. Allen Rodeo Arena. After complete reading of the contract by the Secretary there was a discussion as to the wording in several places. Those present agreed that some changes should be made for the sake of clarification as to the responsibilities being assumed by the two groups, River Valley Antique Machinery Club and Scranton Rough Riders, who are leasing the facility from the owner, the Rough Riders. Motion by Jack Bocksnick, second by David Pridgin to table the signing until those changes are made. Carried. Daivd will return the contract to the attorney as soon as possible. It was noted that the next pull is on November 4 and will be a potluck dinner. Those present agreed that we would move the pull and dinner to the new facility, which also has a building we can use for our meal. New business: A discussion was held concerning the mini-pullers who have been turned away at three pulls, Ozark, Paris and Pottsville. It has always been our policy that no pullers be turned away if all requirements such as dues, safety equipment and etc. are fulfilled. No action was taken at this time since no mini-pullers were present. It was agreed that we will have the sled at each of our next two pulls and some of the members present did offer to see that the sled was moved if Charlie Vick is unable to attend. Discussions of several items on the National meeting in June: Jack Bocksnick suggested that we contact all gas engine people in the area and surrounding areas with a personal invitation to attend and display their engines. Discussion was held as to what would be featured at the National show. Motion by Buddy Bocksnick, seconded by David Pridgin to feature IHC. Carried. It was suggested that we have an auction at the National show. No action was taken other than Buddy Bocksnick agreeing to contact an auctioneer as to the possibility of him having open dates. Spaces may also be consideration and will be explored before the next meeting. Meeting adjourned at 9:30p.m.
